The Housing Authority of the City of Avon Park (HAAP), better known as the Avon Park Housing Authority (APHA), has a simple mission – to provide qualified families with safe, decent and affordable housing of the highest quality within available funding. The methods for executing this mission have become critical given the current economic atmosphere. The Housing Authority has reined in administrative spending to maximize the funding available to improve the properties it owns, explored new development opportunities in a wider range of neighborhoods and expanded partnerships with others who share this mission.
For nearly 50 years, the HAAP has created, maintained and managed 238 rental units in the City of Avon Park, Florida. The Lakeside Park I Community represents sixteen newly remodeled emergency and transitional housing units and Lakeside Park II hosts 77 multi-family apartments. Delaney Heights provides 50 units for elderly and disabled persons and the acquisition and remodel of the Ridgedale Apartment Complex brought 36 additional units on line. Lastly, the jewel in the crown of the HAAP is a beautiful 72 unit rental housing development nestled in the heart of Avon Park.
We invite you to explore our on line home and to get to know the Housing Authority and the wonderful things our dedicated staff does to provide housing, to build our communities and create a place our families are proud to call home.
